Failure, something inevitable in life. The only thing that can keep you from it, is death. Its not the failures but what you do in this failure that makes a difference. Hopefully we learn from the failures. But also, not let those failures or what others may say define who you are. Many that succeed, succeed in the aftermath of failure. Thomas Edison had 1000 attempts at making the light bulb. Was told by his teacher that he was too stupid to learn anything. Held over 1000 patents. When asked about his 1000 failures at the light bulb he said they were not failures, but he learn a 100 ways not to make a light bulb. Pursuit and perseverance. We fail in business, in relationships and in our pursuit for Christ. But none of those failures has ever changed God’s love for you. It is why he came because of our failures not our successes. We can sit down after failure do nothing, or crawl up in a corner and suck our thumbs. Or we can press on. Allow God to take that failure and cover it under the blood. Make changes in direction and press on to the mark of the high calling through Christ. That perseverance is what we saw in David after his debacle as King. Paul and Peter did not stop because things were tough, or they were stopped by those that didn’t want their message. They pressed on through adversity thru what men would call failures, through the prisons, escaping their enemies. Their situation did not define them. Their perseverance did. We fight against powers we cannot even see, but God does and he fights our battles.
17 “You will not need to fight in this battle. Stand firm, hold your position, and see the salvation of the Lord on your behalf, O Judah and Jerusalem.’ Do not be afraid and do not be dismayed. Tomorrow go out against them, and the Lord will be with you.”/ESV
